Youth Services Advocate

Job Summary:

Responsible for coordinating and providing services to children, teens, and parents on a residential and outreach basis; developing and implementing prevention programs for youth.

 

General Job Duties:

  • Complete intakes, assessments, service plans, & progression of services needed/received for child / teen clients & their parents.
  • Provide quality services to child / teen witnesses, NH residents, hotline callers and victims of domestic violence, including but not limited to, individual counseling, group counseling, & safety planning
  • Cover Residential Advocate desk and answer hotline calls
  • Maintain confidentiality of all client information
  • Provide age appropriate orientation to shelter for residential child clients; assist parent & child to normalize routines and activities
  • Assist parents in learning & applying effective discipline techniques
  • Offer domestic violence education to youth on an individual & group basis
  • Facilitate weekly residential client meetings for youth (as applicable)
  • Network with other agencies to provide assistance for domestic violence victims
  • Complete service logs & all necessary paperwork to document hours of service, training, etc. & submit to designated staff on a weekly basis (minimum)
  • Maintain children’s files and complete monthly (minimum) reviews
  • Participate in the quarterly file reviews as part of the quality assurance plan
  • Complete monthly narratives with client success stories for grant reports
  • Administer measurable outcome tools for grant evaluation requirements
  • Update the youth services manual (as needed)
  • Serve as the liaison for local schools & youth organizations
  • Facilitate applicable sessions of the 40-hour training curriculum
  • Participate in applicable internal & external meetings
  • Provide presentations & assist with public awareness activities as requested
  • Participate in the Appreciative Inquiry Process & adhere to Gossip Free Zone
  • Participate in the on-call rotation as scheduled
  • Attend conferences and workshops as designated
  • Assist with the coordination of events and activities for staff and clients
  • Assist Residential Services Coordinator with delegated duties
  • Assist with coordinating donations
  • Assist with coordinating the Residential staff schedule

Licensed Clinical Counselor - CDV

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing individual and group counseling to adult victims of domestic violence

 

General Job Duties:    

        • Maintain confidentiality of all client information

        • Complete intakes for adult clients seeking counseling services

        • Complete assessment process with clients receiving counseling services

        • Set counseling goals with clients and update treatment plans as needed

        • Provide individual counseling services to adult clients

        • Facilitate educational group sessions for adults on an outreach basis

        • Assist as needed with facilitating groups for adults residing at NH  

        • Complete documentation forms and monthly narratives for grant reports

        • Administer measurable outcome tools for grant evaluation requirements

        • Provide support, referrals, advocacy, and education to counseling clients

Financial/Employment Coach

Job Summary:

Provide instruction and guidance on topics related to finances to help customers gain the knowledge, capacity and tools to make sound financial decisions and access financial products that are right for them and help them understand credit, build savings, and reduce debt. Work with customers to facilitate the process toward attainment of established goals.

 

Employment coach will plan, develop, and implement projects around employment coaching and job placement/referral. This position will research, plan, and implement a strategy for building relationships with local businesses and selling the benefits of our bundled services model.

 

Job Responsibilities:

    General Coaching/Counseling:

  • Conduct intake assessment for baseline data
  • Create service plan for short and long term goals
  • Ensure confidentiality of customers information
  • Build relationships with customers for ongoing support to achieve goals
  • Work with customers to create and follow a budget and track expenditures
  • Educate customers about consumer credit issues and assist in the development of a plan to resolve the issues
  • Provide guidance to customers about debt management
  • Educate customers on financial products and decision-making
  • Be familiar with local financing programs
  • Work with lenders to market MCCA’s services and products
  • Ensure accurate and timely phone responses, applications, and incentive/support payments
  • Engage in one-on-one coaching or education for financial capability
  • Promote bundle services to all customers
  • Travel between McLean and Livingston County offices, as well as outreach locations as assigned
  • Implement the comprehensive career-building curriculum
  • Provide one-on-one professional development coaching and guidance
  • Provide feedback on resumes, cover letters, and mock interviews
  • Network and foster ongoing relationships with area employers and their employees
  • Serve as liaison to Heartland Community College career & educational pathway students in McLean and Livingston Counties

    Training Events and Workshops:

  • Conduct community outreach and marketing for workshops
  • Secure and orient appropriate speakers for trainings and workshops
  • Facilitate workshops in McLean and Livingston Counties

    File Maintenance & Reporting:

  • Create and maintain hard copy and electronic files for each customer, including all necessary and required forms and documentation, monitor client progress, and assist in reporting to funders.
  • Complete accurate and timely appropriate statistical reports to include information regarding counseling services and outcomes data
  • Report progress on an agreed-upon production plan
  • Assist in the preparation of grant applications

    Other:

  • Interact and collaborate with others in pursuit of and attainment of the program goals established by the organization
  • Coordinate with MCCA staff on issues relating to financial and employment coaching
  • Maintain required job skills and core professional competencies.
  • Attend and participate in required educational programs, staff meetings, Next Step Operational meetings, Performance Benchmark meeting, and staff meetings
  • Adhere to and demonstrate MCCA’s guiding principles of integrity and respect

Residential Advocate-CDV Part Time

Job Summary:

Responsible for providing quality services to residential families and hotline callers  

 

General Job Duties:

• Maintain confidentiality of all client information

• Provide quality services to NH residents and hotline callers, including but not limited to, crisis counseling, safety planning, emotional support, IDVA advocacy  

• Complete intakes for clients seeking CDV services (as needed)

• Assist in determining NH eligibility and length of stay in conjunction with CDV team

• Provide an age-appropriate shelter orientation for NH adult and child residents, including but not limited to, security/safety procedures and normalization of family services

• Assist in completing assessments and creating/updating service plans (as needed)

• Assist in ensuring the documented progression of services needed and received

• Complete RA shift duty list (including shelter checks)

• Assist in providing a safe, nurturing NH environment, assist with communal living issues

• Provide dv education and parenting skills assistance (as applicable) to residential clients

• Offer cellular phones to victims as needed

• Work with other social service agencies to provide assistance for domestic violence victims

• Complete service logs and all necessary documentation during shift, complete self-check

• Request completion of departure surveys by residential clients

• Participate in internal and external meetings as requested

Part-Time Income Support Coach - Livingston County

Job Summary:  Assists program staff with CSBG and other Community Service programs including outreach referral and advocacy services for individuals and families in Livingston County.  This position will serve as the appointed Direct Linkage contact for referrals from Livingston County Career Link (referrals from the WIOA One-Stop Shop) to connect customers with Mid Central Community Actions programs and employment supportive services.

 

Duties Performed:

  • Conduct telephone screening of clients
  • Scheduling intake appointments for assessment and evaluation
  • Completing client assessment and interviews
  • Collects/copies and enters documentation in the files
  • Complete data entry in tracker systems and databases as required
  • Become familiar with program guidelines, reporting requirements
  • Participates with program staff in planning, implementation, and design of programs and workshops
  • Assists with annual needs survey as requested
  • Approve client payments with review by appropriate staff
  • Refers clients to other MCCA or community assistance programs
  • Serves as resource specialist and advocate for customer base
  • Aids with workshops and activities providing customers with employment tools and employment supportive resource provision
  • Provide overview of MCCA agency services that can benefit customers and communities.
  • Assist participants in completing budget forms and help them to identify changes they can make to improve their budget
  • Provide short term to medium term case management/coaching support services to help participants work toward achieving their goals
  • Complete follow up communication procedures with participants at 6 months
  • Understand available community resources to efficiently refer clients to other MCCA programs and community resources
  • Refer participants to Next Step Financial Opportunity Center to achieve long term goals
  • Ensure complete and accurate data entry for designated agency programs in multiple data entry systems
  • Travel to outreach locations as assigned
  • Ensure file compliance for people served in designated agency programs
  • Ensure accurate and timely phone responses, applications, and payments
  • Ensure confidentiality of customer information; secure files in locked cabinet
  • Participate in team meetings and all-staff meetings
  • Be available for regularly scheduled evening and/or weekend workshops or meetings with participants
