Mid Central Community Action announces Energy Assistance application extension for McLean and Livingston Counties

 

Bloomington, IL – Mid Central Community Action is proud to announce the Energy Assistance Program will begin accepting new applications for Energy Assistance and the PIPP (Percentage of Income Payment Plan) Program for the 2020 – 2021 program year starting July 27, 2020.  In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, there will be no priority periods to follow and all income eligible households may apply starting July 27, 2020.

 

Due to COVID-19 precautions, our offices are currently closed to the public but we are accepting applications electronically as well as at the office doors and through the mail.

 

Households wanting to submit their documents to apply must have incomes equal to or less than 200 percent of the poverty level.  For example, a single-person household can qualify with a gross monthly income of up to $2,127.00 while a family of four can earn up to $4,367.00.

 

Pre-application submissions can be submitted via the Help Illinois Family website:

Eligible customers that have not already received an Energy Assistance grant can submit their documents via the following options:

  • Submit copies of all required documents at the office:

McLean County: 1301 W. Washington St, Bloomington, IL 61701 by placing in an envelope provided outside the office and sliding under the main door.

Livingston County: 320 W. Madison St, Pontiac, IL 61764 by placing in an envelope provided outside the office and sliding under the main door.

  1. Send to all 3 email addresses:  ceo.oca@illinois.gov, receptionist@mccainc.org AND cassieb@mcainc.org

  2. Attach non password protected documents

  3. Email Subject:  INTER-OFFICE FILE TRANSFER – LIHEAP APPLICATION

  4. In the body of the email, please include your phone number, rent/mortgage payment amount and the amount of SNAP benefits received.

  5. If you have never applied or have new household members, please include their Dates of Birth in the body of the email as well.

  6. Customers will also need to complete a Universal Signature page, which allows MCCA staff to complete your application.  This fillable form can be found on our website, www.mccainc.org under the “COVID-19 Response Updates – Read More” option and selecting the “To Complete your LIHEAP application” option, as well as outside our Main office.  Customers can call 309-829-0691 and provide an email address for the form to be sent to as well, or they can provide a mailing address for the form to be sent to.

 

After all documentation has been submitted, an Income Support Specialist will contact the customer in regards to the application and customers can check their application status online via www.illinoisliheap.com/status using the information provided by the Income Support Specialist.
